The 24-year-old from the German Team DSM prevailed on the eleventh stage of Santarcangelo di Romagna to Reggio Emilia over 203 km in the mass sprint in front of the Colombian Fernando Gaviria (UAE Team Emirates). The best German was Phil Bauhaus (Bocholt/Bahrain-Victorious) with ninth place. Dainese had made the prominent competition on the home stretch. The Spaniard Juan Pedro Lopez from Team Trek-Segafredo again defended the Rosa jersey of the overall leader.
