Bauchschaft in Mexico: Due to competitive agreements with player commitments, fines have been imposed against the Mexican Football Association and 17 clubs and eight persons. How had been communicated on Thursday, Mexico s antitrust authority decided to pay a total of 177.6 million peso (around 7.5 million euros). Affected were almost all men s first divisions - and also the women s league.
Redemption transfers and salary upper limit of importance
Two practices were punished. On the one hand, the Gentleman s Agreement applicable in Mexico, according to which, for the obligation of unemployed player repellent payments to the ex-association were due. For at least ten years, this was USUS - at least until 2018, when the authority took the investigation and demanded players an end to the regulation. The working mobility of the actors was inadmissible, it was said at that time.
On the other hand, it was about a salary upper limit, which had been for a good two years (until 2019) in the Mexican women s league. This has prevented the competition between the clubs for better paid players and deepens the wage gap between the sexes, the antitrust authority shared.
Official: The decision is not recurred
The FMF and the Liga BBVA MX have already announced that the decision does not want to challenge.
